![]() ![]() Close Slide-Outs and Lock: Close all slide-outs and ensure they’re locked in place.Close All Interior Doors: Ensure all interior doors are closed to prevent them from swinging open during travel.Empty Trash: Empty all garbage bins in your RV to keep it clean and free from unpleasant odors.Turn Off All Lights: Switch off all interior and exterior lights to conserve battery power.Turn Pilot Lights Off: Make sure any gas-powered appliances with pilot lights are turned off.Turn Off Water Heater: Ensure that your water heater is switched off.Turn Off A/C or Heater: Make sure to turn off all heating or cooling systems.Close Roof Vents and Windows: Ensure all your roof vents and windows are closed to prevent rain or bugs from entering your RV while on the road.Check for Additional Loose Items: Do a final sweep for any additional loose items throughout the RV.Check in Front of Slides for Any Items: Before closing your slides, check in front of them for any items that could be crushed or damaged.(Snacks, drinks, phone chargers, hand sanitizer, trash bag, wallet, sunglasses, napkins, pet water dish, dog bags, leash, etc. Check that children and pets are secure.Do a light check: headlights, turn signals, brakes.Connect the 7-way RV trailer connector (controls lights and brakes).Connect sway bars and safety chains (if applicable).For auto levelers, hook the truck on and auto retract all.) If manual jacks, raise your jacks/stabilizers, then hook-up to the truck. Hook up the trailer to the tow vehicle.Remove and stow extra support/ stabilizers.(Don’t forget your water pressure regulator!) Unhook the water and pack the water hose.Having water on board in similar situations is very beneficial!) (Some campers empty this for weight reasons, however, we’ve ran into bumps in the road where we’ve had to boondock for the night. Unhook the sewer, store the hose, place the sewer cap back on the campsite sewer connection.Make sure the gray and black valves are securely closed.Empty the black tank first and then the gray tank to help flush out the hose.Check for slide clearance and retract slides.Shut the shades for sun exposure and heat. Latch and secure any sliding or pocket doors.Confirm exhaust fans and roof vents are closed.Place the sink cover and stove cover on.Make sure the countertops, table top, and dressers are completely clear of any items that could rattle off during travel.Stow all appliances and gadgets: coffee maker, toaster, cutting board, dish rack, remotes, etc. ![]() ![]() Secure items in the medicine cabinet and shower.For residential refrigerators, make sure the inverter is on. Secure items in the refrigerator and freezer then securely close and lock.Secure items in the cabinets, cupboards, and drawers and close tightly.Pack up all of your belongings outside: welcome mat, camp chairs, grill, picnic table cloth, children’s toys, etc.Move the picnic table back to how you found it.Make sure the campfire is completely out.Gather all of the trash and take to the dumpster.
